Psy, the first Korean artist to be in the cover of Italy's 'Vogue'

In the October issue of L'uomo Vogue, the male version of Vogue Italy, the Korean rapper and singer Psy graces the cover. He is the second Korean to be featured in the magazine prior to the Korean UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, but for the category of Korean artist, he took the spot.

L'uomo Vogue features trendy male fashions all over Italy. In the cover, Psy is grinning brightly with a unique eye shadow on one eye.

Psy’s Holographic Concert dragging thousands of visitors daily

Seoul, South Korea – With thousands of tourist every day, including locals and foreigners alike, another attraction is dragging people around Seoul.

It’s the 380-square-meter theatre in an amusement park in the city, the Korean pop-music (K-pop) hologram theatre. And what else can we see in the hologram theatre, but the far-famed Korean singer/rapper Psy in his concerts.

This is the first time a concert is presented by a laser holographic technology and the 3D recordings run 16 times a day. This is a limited view of the popular Psy concerts and lucky for those who missed the real one. The theatre received over 30,000 visitors during its first week.

People really liked the concept, “You know, in Canada where I come from, everybody likes Psy” and “I love it, it’s so much fun, and my granddaughter really really likes it,” a Canadian tourist commented.

Half Billion Views for Psy's "Gentleman" MV

Since its release last April 2013, Psy music video for the song “Gentleman” reached over a half billion views in the largest video storage site Youtube.

The song is now ranked in the number 10^th spot on the Youtube chart as ‘The Most Viewed Videos in the World’. His previous music video for the song “Gangnam Style” is actually at the number 1 spot.

Though it’s hype is not as much as  Psy’s first song and music video, still it set the record as the second viral video to reach 500 million mark in just 3 months.

Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” and Justin Beibers’ “Baby” music videos took a year before it reached the half billion mark.

Meanwhile, Korean rapper/singer is now busy in Los Angeles, working hard for his next album. Psy also visited the LA Dodger’s stadium to watch the first game between Ryu Hyun jin and Choo Shin soo.

'Gangnam Style' Anniversary

July 15, 2012 was the day the world famous “Gangnam Style” music video hit YouTube and spread throughout the internet and around the globe and last July 15th this year, its first anniversary was celebrated.

Gangnam Style garnered as many records including the first K-pop song that topped on Billboard Hot 100 and the first K-pop song to hit 1 billion views on YouTube, that apparently beat International teen idol Justin Bieber's "Baby."

The most accessible video sharing site, YouTube, that can be accessed anywhere around the globe, made the song “Gangnam Style” and the horsedance as well, dramatically popular. Psy made a breakthrough and introducing K-pop to the world. Now, there is an increase amount of viewers of Asian pop culture, including America, other Asian countries and Europe.

The song’s anniversary was celebrated, as various foreign media covered the issue. Psy became a legend in the introduction of Korean pop culture to the world.

Psy and Lee Byung Hun on ‘RED 2’ premiere

At the premiere of Korean superstar Lee Byung Hun’s movie RED 2, he gets to meet another superstar fan Psy. Psy then took a photo of his idol saying, “with ma’ man Byung-hun Lee at his starring #RED2 premier”

'Red 2' is an action comedy starring big names from the Hollywood. This will be Lee Byung Hun's second Hollywood casting after the block buster hit ‘G.I. Joe’ film series. On the first ‘RED’ movie in 2010, Lee Byung Hun was not one of the cast, now he is as Han, an assassin set out to kill Frank (Bruce Willis).

'Red 2' is a movie based on famous DC comics, where a retired CIA agent Frank Moses (BruceWillis) and his reunited team of elite, but like Frank, retired forces as they try to stop a devastating nuclear explosion.

Other casts are Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, CatherineZeta-Jones and Academy Award Winner Anthony Hopkins.

Psy introduced a Head-Up-Ass Korean Game to America

Psy explained this bizarre photo where kids are positioned in an unusual manner which was actually a Korean old game called Malttukbakgi.

Psy further explained, "We don't do it as much these days, but many kids loved it in the past."

Have you seen Psy’s best impersonator?

During the Cannes International Film Festival's VIP Party, a fake Psy suddenly boost an atmosphere, accompanied with his body guards in full suit. The famous singer/rapper has had many guest invitations around the globe and so the Cannes International Film Festival may not be an exception.

James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ actress Naomie Harris 

tweeted a photo of hers with the fake Psy

But many where shocked and amazed, well hope nobody got furious, on how the 34 year old Denis Carre impersonated Psy during the event. 

He got the same hair style, body size, height, dress code and even his actions and gestures were Psy-like. 

He was able to take photos with Hollywood celebrities without them even noticing it was a fake one. 

He parted with them at the Carlton Hotel VIP Room and Martinez Beach even teaching some with the famous ‘horse dance’ Gangnam Style.

Denis Carre is from a small town of Blanzat, France. He is Korean born and was adopted and brought to France. And he is undoubtedly a Psy fanatic.

Psy performs on the White House’s annual Christmas 
in Washington holiday concert

Yesterday, Korea Record Institute announced that the 'LargestGangnam Style Dance' that was held in Seoul with over 100, 000 participants and Psy himself, was admitted to the England's Guinness Records.

Thus, Psy received another Guinness World Record title as 'Largest Gangnam Style Dance'. The achievement was said to be more meaningful because of the thousands of Seoul citizens that are included in the record.

It has made known that Psy's Gangnam Style song with the funky horse dance has reached popularity world wide for a period of time. With over billion views on Youtube, different concerts world wide, Super Bowl commercial and even performing and meeting the US President Obama.

"Now that the title was decided, we will be submitting required video, photo, and confirmation document to receive the official Guinness World Records certificate," the Korea Record Institute stated.

Psy held a free concert in front of Seoul City Hall last October 4, 2012, and was attended by approximately 100,000 people

Psy on his latest single 'Gentleman'

A staggering 100 million views and counting up to date, which is probably the most watched video in Youtube. Psy's Gentleman is now topping on almost every country on all music charts.

The latest single from Psy entitled "Gentleman" is a more upbeat kinda dubstep song mixed with some English language and a more aphrodisiacal approach.

Many reacted positively and of course some negatively. But to Psy fans and others who loved the song, it is a sure hit.

In it's music video which was just released last week, it shows of a man doing some childish behavior towards women. But he then meets a sexy lady (Brown Eyed Girl's Ga In) that conforms to his acts. Again like his previous song "Gangnam Style" a crowd will dance with the synchronized steps.

The lyrics of the song (as translated in English) may be denoting some bad words or intimacy, like in the chorus, "...mother, father, gentleman" which could have a double explicit meaning like "...mother f***** gentleman".

Psy Ranks #1 in 10 Different Countries

Psy‘s “Gangnam Style” is still on the limelight.

Psy has already ranked #1 on the iTunes charts of 31 countries, #2 on Billboard's 'Hot 100' chart, then #1 on UK’s charts, and then again #1 in Austraila. He has gone on and is now reported to have reached #1 in 8 other countries including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Norway.

Jay Park dances to Psy’s “Gangnam Style”

Jay Park is not safe from dancing to Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”

On October 1st episode of MBC TV’s Come to Play, jay Park, Kim Eung Soo, Kwon Oh Joong, and Eun Ji Won made a guest appearance. Ji Won mentioned a video of Jay Park’s version of “Gangnam Style,” which attracted a lot of attention online. At this, hosts and other guests of the show asked Park to dance to the song.

Jay seemed embarrassed at first, but he soon danced to the song in a classy way.

Cebu Inmates Dance To Gangnam Style

Cebu inmates from Philippines, have a history of large-scale dance covers of K-pop songs. It's not surprising that they finally made a cover of Psy's viral hit Gangnam Style.

They made this cover due to "insistent public demand". Over 1000 inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) took to the rainy courtyard in front of a host of guests.

Psy Ranks 2nd on Billboard 100

Psy recently set another record by ranking second on the Billboard Chart. After ranking 11th last week on the chart he leaped up 9 spot and reach the number 2 spot. In a recent press conference, Psy promised that he will dance 'shirtless' if he will ranked no. 1 in Billboard 100. It seems that we have to wait another week to see if he can reach the top spot.

Beloved international group Maroon 5′s “One More Night” ranked first for two weeks in a row, placing Psy’s “Gangnam Style” on second in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. He is the first Korean singer to achieve this spot on Billboard.

The official ranking will be released on September 28 (Korean time) but it was pre-released on September 27 through Billboard magazine Billboard Biz.
