Actor Lee Byung Hun and actress Lee Min Jung to be wed this August

Their love story began last year August 2012 and they will settle it for good this year August 2013, they say at exactly their 1^st anniversary.

Actor Lee Byung Hun and actress Lee Min Jung will be wed this year, according to Lee Byung Hun’s agency last Wednesday.

The wedding is said to be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul and maybe an all stars cast will be invited.

Good luck to their marriage! Congratulations and happy marriage to both of them.

When I saw this picture I was… really shocked! I can’t imagine that this is our Kpop idol Lee Min Ho back in his old days.

This viral photo, since it is currently attracting a lot of attention in the online community was taken nine years ago. In the photo, Lee Minho and VJ Danji, the girl that she’s with are portraying like lovers. In the lower left corner of the photo, there is a captioned that says “They’re lovers, dressed in similar types of clothes”.

Lee Min Ho was a high school student and Danji was a college student when the photo took place.

Daniel Henney To Return Again In A Korean Drama Series

After 3 years of waiting, finally we will be able to see him act in a Korean drama series again. Actor/Model Daniel Henney is being considered for a role in the upcoming series “Iris 2”, the sequel of the original drama “Iris”.

On September 18^th, some insiders confirmed that Henney is under negotiations to join the cast of the said series which is soon to air starting next year, 2013 in Korea.

Along with Daniel, the confirmed cast lineups are as follows; Kim Young Chul, Kim Soo Woo, Oh Yeon Soo and Im Soo Hayng, while Jang Hyuk and Lee Da Hae are also in negotiations to join the action series.

Kpop Invasion Continues: Lee Min Ho, The Newest Endorser of Top Philippine Clothing Brand

As of last count, two kpop stars are chosen to be the ambassador of a top clothing brand in the Philippines, and they recently visited our country last August. Who am I talking about, none other than Super Junior members Choi Siwon and Lee Donghae.

And as growing Korean wave presence in the Philippines continues, another Korean star has been signed up as the newest endorser of Bench, following the footsteps of Siwon and Donghae.

As of to date, Lee Min Ho is one of the most popular korean actor and endorser in South Korea. His first role as Gun Jun-pyo in the hit Korean drama series “Boys Over Flower” opened the door for Lee Min Ho to stardom and be known not only in Korea but in different part of the world as well.

With this TV series he earned himself the best new actor in the 45^th Baeksang Arts Awards and in the KBS Drama Awards in 2009. It also allowed him to bagged leading roles in dramas that make him even more popular.

He’s next starring role is in the k-drama series “Personal Taste” followed by the hit series “City Hunter” respectively. He won the excellence award in the MBC drama Awards in 2010 and the best actor and Hallyu star award in the Korea Drama Festival Awards in 2011 for “City Hunter”.

Right now, he is busy taping for his new TV drama entitled “Faith” which is currently airing in Korea.

The Next Immortalized Idol, My Princess Star Song Seung Hun

After Lee Min Ho, Autumn in my Heart and My Princess star Song Seung Hun will be immortalized by a life sized figurine wax.

The Madame Tussuads in Busan said yesterday, September 13 that they will create a wax figure of Song and they are planning to display it this coming December. They measure almost five hundred items and make a wax stature by means of a 200 year old technique out of his measurements.

The Museum spokesperson added that it took them a lot of research and study to carefully choose the person that they will turn into a wax figure. Character, popularity and reputation are the most top requirements for choosing a subject and Song is the perfect subject to have his life sized wax figure for the said Museum. They anticipate that this wax figure will become famous not only in Busan fans but also to his international fans as well.

Madam Tussauads have branches in some countries such as UK, US, Korea, China, and Thailand and it is the biggest wax museum in the world, existing for a centennial-year-old already. They have 17 wax figures display in Busan including big names in the international scene like Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Jackie Chan, Johnny Depp and many more.

Jang Geun Suk "I Want To Be Like Jackie Chan"

Kpop singer and actor Jang Geun Suk conveyed his adoration for Chinese idol Jackie Chan.

On September 8 of KBS’s Entertainment Relay, the Hallyu was asked if he will reborn again, which celebrity he would want to be as.

After thinking for a few seconds, Jang Geun Suk answered without hesitation “Jackie Chan” and he quickly explained, I really respect Jackie Chan. He already proven himself in a world where Asians are discriminated and make his own unique way. I would also love to do the same thing as he did.

Love rain star also captured the interest of many viewers with this episode after exposing that he will be filming a dinner show in both Korea and Japan staring in November respectively.

Lee Min Ho Turning Into A Wax?

Last August 24, Lee Min Ho’s agency said that Kpop idol Lee Min Ho will be having his own life-size figurine in Shanghai for Madame Tussauds Museum in April next year.

Some of the staff museums fly to South Korea to get the measurement of the Hallyu actor, the clothes that he will wear plus the pose for the statue. In fact he needs to open his mouth for three hours just to capture different angles for his smile. That was so hard, really!

“We select local celebrities who are popular and highly respected in the areas. Lee Minho is not only one of the most popular actors in Asia but also a big Hallyu star, explained by a representative from the museum to why Min Ho was by Madame Tussuads chosen to be immortalized following the biggest names in entertainment industry such as David Beckham, Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Madonna, Brad Pitt, Michael Jackson, Jackie Chan and so much more.

Furthermore, the City Hunter star is one of the well love Korean stars in South Korea and other foreign countries today. A great actor with such a handsome face and a kind heart as well, so no wonder he’s been selected by the museum. Go Lee Min Ho!

Kpop News: Choi Siwon Will Be Back To Rock Your TV Screen Again!

Good News to all Kpop Elf followers.  Choi Siwon will return to small screen again!  Isn’t it great?

After his successful Korean drama series, Spring Waltz, Athena: Goddess of War, Oh My Lady, Poseidon and many more, Siwon will be back to make you fall in love with him again.  According to some broadcast officials, Choi was cast in SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday series entitled “Lord of the Dramas” (still working on this title), which is planning to air this coming November. He will play the role of a famous Hallyu Star, Kang Min.

A representative from SM Entertainment quoted:

“Choi was offered to appear in the series and we are currently considering it positively”.

Synopsis:

This comedic series revolves around these three characters; Kang Min (Choi Siwon), an arrogant and self-centered Hallyu celebrity, a president of a production company (Kim Myung Min)  whose only concerned is to earn money, and a writer (Jung Ryeo Won is considered to play this role).

Because he only cares about money, the President will try to cast Kang Min to be the lead role of the drama series that he will produce. However, the writer of it thought that the series must contain human love and the trouble follows after that. 

I’m pretty sure that this will be another sure fire korean tv series hit for Siwon.

Kpop Idols Facing The Challenging World of Military Service

For most countries across the world, military service is only an option, but for South Koreans it is mandatory. Many people may not fully understand its importance to their nation, but for Korean people they take it very seriously, because of the fact that they are still at war with North Koreans. When we say mandatory, there is no exception with the law, from a simple citizen of Korea to the brightest star today. Yes, you read it right; Kpop idols and actors have to serve as well or else they will be ignored by their society forever, that’s the law!

Korean men are required to serve for two years or less in the military depending on the conscription that they are in and the age range is from 18-35 years old only.

Army: 1 year and 10 months

Navy: 1 year and 10 months

Air Force: 2 years and 1 month

Hallyu stars are required to leave the limelight and say hello to the military world for a while, not because it is amended by the law but to fulfill their duty and responsibility as a citizen of their country. It’s really hard for them to step out of the stage to face a new challenging role in the real world. Yet, they choose to leave everything behind for the sake of their nation (from luxurious and branded dress to military uniforms and from a scrumptious meal to war food).

In line with this, let me give a list of some Korean drama series actors and singers that are currently enlisted in the military.
