In the MV teaser above, Minho appears first, as he plays a flute and all dressed with elaborate mask. Others too as they slowly show their incisive stares and looks. As towards the end, it showed five, somewhat, static lying mannequins.

Psy, the first Korean artist to be in the cover of Italy's 'Vogue'

In the October issue of L'uomo Vogue, the male version of Vogue Italy, the Korean rapper and singer Psy graces the cover. He is the second Korean to be featured in the magazine prior to the Korean UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, but for the category of Korean artist, he took the spot.

L'uomo Vogue features trendy male fashions all over Italy. In the cover, Psy is grinning brightly with a unique eye shadow on one eye.

Insane Gifts a K-pop Fan Could Give

For the birthday girl Jessica of the famous girl group Girls’Generation, fans are so generous they gave her a bunch of gifts like a MIDI master keyboard, Audio Interface, ULTRASONE Nature Surround Sound Headphones, designer shoes and accessories, a special photobook, Chanel products and an Olympus camera. Pretty cool, huh?

2PM’s Wooyoung released his first solo album “23, Male, Single”. Because of this, his fan communities gathered and rented a bus where they put a plastered poster on the sides, front and back of the bus. They also put an ad on a big screen in the middle of Korea.

The internationally famous Yunho of TVXQ also had his birthday gifts from his Chinese fans, a birthday greeting ad on a subway line. Also, his fans donated 140 bags of rice to the Community Chest of Korea which was under Yunho's name. Really kind-hearted and devoted fans can do that!

Super Junior’s leader, Leeteuk, received a very special gift from his fans in Vietnam. Instead of cakes and other presents, they bought a star in his honor. He isn’t the only SuJu member to receive such a gift but that is really an amazing gift.

Probably, the most generous fans a K-pop star could have, is JYJ’s Jaejoong. On his birthday, his Chinese fans gave him a Cartier watch, Prada shoes and wallet, an insane espresso machine, Balenciaga wallet, a NX 1000 Samsung camera, wine glasses, a skateboard, clothes, earphones and million others more! Wow!

The 2013 Asia Song Festival with guest from the Philippines, MYMP

     

Three idols stars are selected to host the 2013 Asia Song Festival, namely 2PM’s Taecyeon, EXO’s Kris and Super Junior’s Eun Hyuk.

All the leading Korean artists will be gathered together for the event on October 9 at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul. Since it’s a Korean Holiday, surely fans will be delighted to see their idols participate in the festival and have their performances too.

There will be performances from Girl’s Day, EXO, 2PM, ZE:A, Crayon Pop, Dynamic Duo and other stars from different Asian countries. Also, 7ICONS from Indonesia and M.Y.M.P. from the Philippines are said to be participating as well.

Drama Trivia: Who Are You?

In the August 12 episode of ‘Who Are You’, Cha Geon Woo (Ok Taecyeon) is looking at his childhood photos that were actually real old photos of 2PM’s Taecyeon himself.

Two photos of which he was holding, shows playing Taecyeon when he was three or four years old. Eagerly looking at the images as if reminiscing the past.

Also, in the episode, Yang Si On (So E Hyun) confessed to Cha Geon Woo that she can see spirits of the dead.

Rain's Fan Meeting After Military Service was Cancelled

A scheduled fan meeting last August 3 for the singer and actor Rain was cancelled. After his military discharge three weeks ago, fans are anticipating for his comeback.

The agency stated, “We apologize for having to postpone the fan meeting in consideration of ongoing preparations. We plan to make an announcement later on with a new schedule. We will work hard to put on a good performance for all the fans who have waited so long.”

The agency also stated that Rain may take some time before he starts making an album but Rain will be participating on the biggest music festival in Thailand, Sonic Bang this August 24. International Artists Far East Movement and Jason Mraz will participate also with Korean musician Epik High.

F(x)’s Sulli on their new single"Rum Pum Pum Pum"

Jiving in the music video for "Rum Pum Pum Pum," f(x) finally made their long awaited comeback where the song talks about first loves.

In an interview members made statements on their first loves. Sulli, previously revealed that she once had feelings on one of her body guards but doesn’t consider it as real love. She said, "I've never had a first love. It will come someday I hope?"

F(x) are currently promoting their new title track. "RumPum Pum Pum" is a pop genre, with cute dance choreos on the music videos. This will be another f(x)’s signature genre hits.

5-year jinx for 2NE1?

In the growing K-pop culture today, introducing the Korean pop music to the world, the five-year jinx is a term used by the industry to interpret the time most of the idol groups break up.

2NE1 is not exempted with this, when asked in the YTN's 'Ho Jun Suk's News In' about their opinion on the five-year jinx, leader CL explained, "That is probably due to the contract term."

The girls is now on it’s four years since their debut in 2009 and when the MC asked how was 2NE1’s contract term, they responded, "although we can't reveal that, we still have time left. I think our team will continue for a long time."

As they went on, the topic of going solo, member Dara shared, "If the opportunity presents itself, I want to do it. But since I'm promoting as a team right now, I am focused on 2NE1."

Though CL and Bom have promoted solo albums, all the members were actually trained to be individuals, they just debuted as a group. CL and her group are confident of going in their own if the time really comes.

One Direction’s Music Video “Best Song Ever” starring B.A.P.

Heard the latest from One Direction?

One Direction has a new released song, “Best Song Ever” and in the music video shows a short portion of the Korean boy group B.A.P.

In the music video, the British boy group faces their manager where they would talk about making changes with the boys, including the styles and music. But the boys refused and wanted to stay as they are.

The funny thing is that the boys played in two roles. The boy group One Direction and as the Studio Executives (played by Niall and Louis), the sexy Assistant (played by Zayn), the marketing guy (played by Harry) and the choreographer (played by Liam).

In the video, while the marketing guy is showing his options on what would be the boys’ styles, B.A.P.’s photo of their debut song “Warrior” is shown. They wore red suits with blond hair. But B.A.P. consists of six members, so it was photoshopped into five persons only, cutting off maknae Zelo, and replaced One Direction’s faces. They also turned a bit of the color into fuchsia.

Netizens were amazed and twitted with the hashtag #StayStrongZelo, to make fun of B.A.P.'s photo appearance.

'Gangnam Style' Anniversary

July 15, 2012 was the day the world famous “Gangnam Style” music video hit YouTube and spread throughout the internet and around the globe and last July 15th this year, its first anniversary was celebrated.

Gangnam Style garnered as many records including the first K-pop song that topped on Billboard Hot 100 and the first K-pop song to hit 1 billion views on YouTube, that apparently beat International teen idol Justin Bieber's "Baby."

The most accessible video sharing site, YouTube, that can be accessed anywhere around the globe, made the song “Gangnam Style” and the horsedance as well, dramatically popular. Psy made a breakthrough and introducing K-pop to the world. Now, there is an increase amount of viewers of Asian pop culture, including America, other Asian countries and Europe.

The song’s anniversary was celebrated, as various foreign media covered the issue. Psy became a legend in the introduction of Korean pop culture to the world.

Korean Actors in their popular web comic based movies and series

Kim Soo Hyun that starred in the block buster hit “SecretlyGreatly” that was based on the popular webtoon series “Covertness” acquired enormous popularity and large amount of sales. According to the Film Council Cinema Tickets integrated computer network aggregation results, “Secretly Greatly” has exceeded the 6.7 million viewers.

Setting up various records in South Korean cinemas like, highest single day opening for a domestic film; most tickets sold in one day for a domestic film; the biggest opening weekend; the highest-grossing webtoon-based film; and the fastest movie to reach the millions mark in audience number.

 

On the other hand, Jang Geun Suk also is going to appear again in small screen with his drama series “Pretty Man” that is again based on a comic book. Read here for more info.

Also, Kim Hyun Joong, the handsome heartthrob of “Boys Over Flowers” and “Playful Kiss” is coming back with the KBS2 upcoming drama series “Ageof Feelings” that is based on a manhwa written by Park Ha-Gi. The story will be set in a 1930’s era where ambition, love, patriotism and friendship are subjects of the characters, where a mixture of race like Chinese, Korean and Japanese will be portrayed.

Is this CL’s twin?

Last July 10, 2NE1 leader uploaded an Instagram photo with her younger sister Harin, with the caption, “My baby sister.”

They look like twins only that the other CL is wearing makeup. The four-year younger Hari timidly smiles as her unnie hugs her. The looks on their faces are expressing much love and proudness with each other.

Fans saw the photo and expressed admiration too. “CL’s sister looks so charming,” and “CL must really love her little sister,” some commented.

CL and her band members of 2NE1 are sure busy with their recently released single “Falling in Love” and another to be released next month. Let’s watch out for that!

How 2NE1 dealt with their dating bans

At a website, to celebrate their comeback in the latest album "Falling in Love", 2NE1 member Dara reflected some memories on her dating ban being lifted last year.

Last 2012, Sandara Park and Park Bom were given a freedom to date, at last!

Sandara wrote in her M2day, "Today's new years! 99% of the texts that I received from my friends and acquaintances were, 'I hope you get a cool boyfriend this year,' and 'Have a wonderful love this year!' It seems that people around me are more worried than I am about getting a boyfriend! As promised by YG CEO, we are free to date starting this year! Woot! Anyways, everyone, have a blessed new year! I want to become cuter this year!"

And fans commented, "Congratulations on your dating ban being over!" and "I hope you meet a nice and cool boyfriend this year."

But how were they restricted?

I their agency YG Enterainment, the four girls are made to signed a contract where they are not allowed to date. It is a bit of a personal issue but the girls are willing to set aside it all just to succeed and focus on their work.

The 28-year old kpop idol Dara, said, "I kind of pity myself. Last year, I had the ban, so I thought, 'I have to listen well to the CEO.' But now that it's lifted, it feels even weirder," and added "Even though I'm allowed to date now, [I don't]."

Their leader CL also said that even without a ban on dating, as Kpop icons, it is still difficult.

For CL, she stated, "My image is also a problem. Since I say on stage, 'I'm the best', not only men but also other women get scared when trying to talk or approach me."

The 22-year old rapper/singer has one more year of her dating ban. Her unnies [Dara and Park Bom] were lifted last year because of their age but Minzy and CL’s dating ban will be lifted next year.

CL also said, “we don't go out on variety shows, and we only stand on one stage per week, so we don't have much of a chance to meet other celebrities. Since we're always working, we don't have opportunities to meet new people. We've never even had a break since our debut."

Well, fans are happy whether they have a boyfriend or not, or dating or not, as long as they don’t hurt the hearts of their favorite idols.

Let’s just hope that the 2NE1 girls will find their perfect match!

2PM’s Nickhun and Miss A’s Jia in the Chinese drama ‘One and a Half Summer’

Below are images where 2PM’s Nickhun and Miss A’s Jia are spotted on the film set in Xiamen, China. The artists are cast of the upcoming Chinese drama series ‘One and A Half Summer’ [一又二分之一的夏天 / Yi You Er Fen Zhi Yi De Xia Tian].

The teenage drama is a story of the lead character (Nickhun), an American-Chinese student, who coming from Sates, went to China to find the girl that stole his heart.

The drama will soon to air next year which the productions had plans of filming on other parts of China like Fuzhou and Beijing and as well as out of the country, which is in Greece.

Fans are looking forward to the two artist Nickhun and Jia in their acting performance on the drama and as well as their supposed to be language in the drama.

The film set was in a lovely campus University in Xiamen.

Nichkhun, wearing a shirt and a white pants, while Jia wears white shirt and jeans.

As for the four-girl’s group 2NE1 comeback, they chose the most adored variety show for celebrity, ‘Running Man.’
