Korean Drama Review: My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

Why My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is well accepted by the Filipinos? For a simple reason – it brings laughter.  This is one of the few Korean drama that offers everything you needed to watch in a tv series (comedy, light drama and of course romance).

Story Plot:

Basically, the story revolves around the life of Dae Woong (Lee Seung Gi and how he fell in love with the beautiful Miho (Gumiho -  nine-tail-fox from a painting) - love story between a human and a fox.

Ever since the Gumiho (Shin Min Ah) wanted to be a human, and then Grandma Samshin (akin mother earth in folklore), gave the Gumiho a chance to fulfill her outmost dream. Unfortunately, due to her “goddess human image”, she captured the heart of all the guys in the community where she lives in. Out of loathing, the women in the village spread humors that she will eat all the men in their place, which made her supposed to be fiance, abandoned her and she already missed her chance to become human and worst, she’s been trapped in the painting with the akin mother earth.

One fine day, Dae Woong, a seditious, unusual guy but a talented artist, accidentally releases the Gumiho. With his astonishment, Woong accidentally fell off the shrine and is badly hurt. Miho helps him by giving her “bead” (a mana which is the source of her strength and life). After that event, Miho always follow Dae Woong to protect her bead.

At first, Wong was annoyed by Miho because she always follow him wherever he goes but as day passes by, he eventually falls for the Gumiho.

Generally, the story is very interesting and I will highly recommend this koreanovela to everyone. I’m pretty sure they will fall in love with the story and the characters as well.
